Huanglongbing (HLB) is known as the most devastating disease of citrus. Two species of Candidatus Liberibacter have been reported in Brazil, Ca. L. asiaticus (CaLas) and Ca. L. americanus (CaLam). Since CaLas is prevalent worldwide, most of the studies have focused that species and very little information is available on CaLam. With the objective to investigate differences in metabolic pathways of Citrus sinensis in response to CaLam, we used a genome- wide microarray approach to identify differentially expressed genes in symptomatic plants when compared to control plants. Hybridizations were performed by Roche Nimblegen with a customized 385K chip containing 32,000 unigenes of C. sinensis. The raw data were pre-processed using the Robust Multiarray Average (RMA). Normalized data were imported to R/Bioconductor where statistical analyses were performed. A Bayesian moderated t-test was calculated and p-values were adjusted for multiple comparisons by the false discovery rate correction. A total of 634 genes with P-values ?0.05, fold change |FC| ? 2.0 and odds probability ? 0.95 were considered differentially expressed. From those, 419 were up- and 215 down-regulated in symptomatic plants. In order to identify enriched gene ontologies regulated in infected plants we applied a gene set enrichment analysis approach and found 45 different biological processes including those involved in response to jasmonic acid stimulus, signaling and metabolism, 17 molecular functions, including oxygen binding, monooxygenase activity and oxidoreductase activity, 6 cellular components, mostly related to chloroplast, enriched at a statistically significant level of 0.001. The diversification of species for bioenergy silviculture in Amazonia will help several local and/or regional industrial segments. Thus, the expansion of knowledge on silvicultural practices of Tachigali vulgaris will support future commercial-scale plantations in Amazonia. This study aimed to evaluate possible differences in diameter, height, and wood volume of T. vulgaris trees grown under different nutritional doses, on two soil texture classes. In addition, we sought to determine the appropriate nutritional dose for the studied types of soil texture aiming at the production of energy wood. The study was conducted in two experimental areas of 1.6 ha each, located in the municipality of Almeirim – Pará, Brazil. Independent analyses were performed in both experimental areas at each age. The experiments were set up in a randomized block design with four blocks. A factorial scheme considering four phosphorus and three potassium doses were adopted, totaling 12 treatments. The diameter at 1.30 m (DBH), equivalent diameter, total height of the trees, and the commercial wood volume with bark per hectare (Vwb ha−1) were evaluated. A significant effect of nutrient doses was reported on DBH at the age of 2 years for the soil with a sandy loam texture. The Vwb ha−1 of the trees at 4, 5, and 6 years old was significantly affected by fertilization in clayey soils. Under the conditions of the present study, the nutritional doses of 0 kg ha−1 of triple superphosphate and 172 kg ha−1 of potassium chloride are recommended for the area with Oxisol of sandy loam texture and 195 kg ha−1 of triple superphosphate and 343 kg ha−1 of potassium chloride are recommended for the area with Oxisol of clayey texture.
